As many of you have, my magnet links were not working with Chrome, and uTorrent was simply not opening. I'm using Windows 10.

I've followed the numerous blogs and articles, basically 2 major points came out of those:

enable the handler in Chrome Settings
check the registry and make sure we've got the uTorrent.exe correctly set in the HKEY_USERS path
If you don't know what I'm talking about, it means you've not dig enough.

If you know what i'm talking about, then I've found the solution by parsing my whole registry, looking for the word "magnet" and discovering the following:

Make sure Chrome is closed.

I removed the two lines where magnet is displayed.

I restarted Chrome, and tadaaaaa the magnet links are now working, uTorrent opens correclty :)

Didn't work on windows 7 either..best solution..use another browser..chrome blocks alot of things!

This is the real solution. Much easier than trying to find a non-existent entry in the local state file.

Found An easy solution by accident while having this issue myself. Simply clear browser history from chrome and retry a magnet link. For me it asked the permission once again. Had this issue for months and now knowing the simplicity of its fix, my foot is kicking the hell out ofmy own arse lol.

Why do that when you can just paste the magnet's URL directly into the torrent software?
Nobody anywhere needs to feed links to your crap site when they can bypass it completely.

Thank you, I accidentally clicked the "Ignore this forever" checkbox and quickly realized I screwed up. This worked wonders, and since I can't comment on stackoverflow... plus this was explained better with photos... thanks :)

Oh, also I'm using Canary so my folder was in Chrome SxS, sneaky lil' bugger.

am I the only one to not have "magnet" in local state file? However, in my case, Chrome says it will open the magnet link with the chosen torrent application, but then it will do nothing. Anyone has the same issue? tnx
