had the same prob, i fixed it by downloading the latest update and then when the msg came up i press options then restart. worked fine.

I was having this same problem on my Droid Incredible and after seeing this I cleared data on my GMail and which I did before to no avail, but this time I also cleared the Internet data. Then I took several of the largest size apps and removed them off of the phone memory and restarted and then everything synced right away and my GMail was back. Upsetting that I was on the phone with numerous people from HTC who kept telling me I just have to wipe the phone and start over. They have no clue. Bur thanx for the suggestions here as they worked for me.

I was also having this issue and clearing data & rebooting would not work. However I was also getting an "application data space low" error, so I went into the Internet application and cleared the data there - Gmail synced right up. Seemed like Internet was sucking up all the memory and wouldn't allow Gmail to sync.

That was the right driver working great. Thanks. Vista reminded me that the driver for this device was not installed every time I booted, Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you! This worked perfectly. One thing I can add is that under Manage Applications, the Google Mail Storage and Google Mail tabs were not visible on my phone (samsung galaxy 550). To fix this, when in the Manage Applications page, push the menu button and set Filter to All (instead of Downloaded).

That was the right driver. Thanks. Dell should have this driver listed for my XPS 420, as a Recommended driver, but alas, no! Vista reminded me that this device was not installed every time i booted, so obviously, the driver should have been listed on Dell's support site for this model. You've made my day. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I have Tried the Same Thing on My Sony Xperia Mini 10 .. Still i am seeing
"Your email will appear shortly" it been a day.. its still not loaded.

Cheers for this. The forum at the first result in google was useless with suggestions like factory reset and "kill yourself" so it's a shame this isn't higher in the results.
